Outlet Success

Blouse (Limited): Skirt (Banana Republic Outlet); Shoes (BCBG find at TJMaxx);
Bryan B Photography

Going to the outlet mall can be a lot like a first date... it's exciting, you have all high expectations, and you don't want to waste your time.  And I've been burned in the past... I've walked into Gap outlet encouraged by a window display to find everything inside boring, and I wonder if the prices truly are better.  But I had a fabulous first date experience at the Banana Republic outlet store where I found this skirt. It's completely my type and came at a perfect price ($12).  And like successful first dates, this experience gave me hope for my future of outlet shopping.  And if you must know, the date did end with kiss :)

I love the Banana Republic outlet stores...and also hate the Gap outlets. I've also had good luck at J. Crew outlet stores. That skirt was a terrific find for only $12!

The color of that skirt makes your eyes totally pop - beautiful! And I love the comparison between first dates and outlet shopping - totally true! :)

That skirt has such a cute print and was such a great price! There's an outlet mall right near me, but I'd rather shop at the regular mall. I find the outlet merchandise is usually poorer quality than the regular store so it's sometimes not worth the savings.

Did you kiss the skirt? I have the same feeling about outlet shops - sometimes the prices aren't that much cheaper.

i haven't been to the outlet malls for so long, but now i kind of want to go. i tend to go a little crazy in the kitchen stores, so i try to steer clear! i love this skirt, and those shoes are amazing!

You look lovely, Heather, in that gorgeous green skirt!
It is always exciting to me to visit Outlets as you never know what treasure you might find there! I actually spotted this same skirt in BR outlet but I had to resist myself from buying it as I already did some purchases and did not want to go over board!

loveeeee that skirt! wow, good snatch at 12$ n i agree with ur description, BR outlets never disappoint. i think outlets are first dates with hard-to-get/expensive brands - i always head to those stores first.

Ha! That is the perfect metaphor for the outlet mall! I seem to always have bad experiences at Banana and Gap but J. Crew gets me every time. Love that skirt and those shoes are awesome!

Great find, I love that pattern! It's so great when you find a something you love that actually feels like a bargain - it's always sad when you end up getting nothing because the deals aren't even worth the drive!

Great analogy of outlet shopping being like dating. I love those shoes! I like how the shine amps up the neutral colour and the heel height and shape are perfect. These will be wonderful for fall too, I'm sure (maybe with some coloured tights??)
