When I wore this outfit to work, one of my coworkers commented on my "matrix boots", and at first I just stared at him... and then I decided to embrace it! 1999 was a good year and The Matrix is a great movie - I'm honored to represent the futuristic fashion ;) I got this shirt dress from Target and I wish I had it in every color... it's such an effortlessly pulled together look. And the combo of my matrix boots and easy going shirt dress is fun and unexpected, yet tough. Seriously, who's gonna mess with these boots?

Effortless, such a good word. This look is effortless but it is also quite classic. I like classic. If classic can be combined with effortless... all the better.
BTW... always "embrace" those sorts of rude comments. I get similar reactions all the time. Honestly, in most cases I think their is some measure of jealousy and envy... certainly some curiosity and intrigue. I think the comment is rarely actually a put down. Maybe I am naive?

The comment "Matrix Boots" was truly a complement, it does however amaze me that things are always assumed to be negative or rude these days first without question, instead try to assume the positive aspect in all(You know that us men are not always good at articulating). It was a reference to what the boots reminded me of and in mind (which is a bit of matrix)that was a positive connection and It was in no way a derogatory comment (I apologize to you Heather if you felt it was). I do think that Heather was WORKING the boots as she does most of what she wears... P.S. I am glad I at least gave you something to write about.;-)
I never would have thought "Matrix" when I saw those boots - although they do look like butt-kicking boots!
such a lovely look! those boots look great with the dress :)

Those boots are super Matrix-like and there is nothing wrong with that. I always thought dressing like Trinity would be awesome. Anyhow, I love your shirt dress, it looks divine on you! :)
