The Clash

Dress (Taylor find at Marshalls ); Shirt & Tights (Target); Socks (JCPenney);
Boots (Nine West); Necklace (Limited)

I love dressing up plaid - it's fun and unexpected... and helps give this short sleeved dress a winter life.  And I LOVE pattern mixing... it forever eliminates any misguided fashion combinations (pretty genius if you ask me) ... what do you mean my shirt doesn't go with my dress?  I'm pattern mixing!

OOH I love this! I think I told you I have a similar houndstooth dress, I think I may have to give this a try! I just need to take said dress to the dry cleaners first. Anyway, I really like how this turned out, very festive!!

What a fun way to wear a plaid shirt!! I love it with the houndstooth print, it makes such a cute, funky look!

I just so love how you mix such bold patterns! The plaid with the dress fancies up the plaid shirt while making the dress more casual!! Perfection!!

Such a cute mix Heather! :) And that's exactly what I'm going to say to someone who asks why are you wearing those things together... I'm pattern mixing DUH! haha! But this is really cute!

I love pattern mixing too! And you totally look fabulous in dress and flannel! I hate the idea of cyber fashion police judging what people wear. I love fashion but I think people have different eyes for different things, am I right or am I right? More power to you sister for rocking that "clash"!

The pattern mixing trend really does open up a world of new options! The hounds tooth and plaid is so unexpected, but I love that it keeps this adorable dress wearable through the cold season!

Pattern mixing is something I'm not great at, so I always admire people who do it well. I would never have considered plaid an houndstooth as a combination, but they look fabulous the way you've put them together!

I also love (and at the same time am completely terrified) of pattern mixing. But it's so much more fun than matching everything like we did all those years ago :)
