Improvise

Dress (Mercer & Madison find at Marshalls); Shoes (Target);
Necklace (Helen Ficalora "S" charm)

This dress is one of my favorite finds from Marshalls this year - the top is cotton and the bottom is linen, which means this dress is extremely comfortable. After putting it on, I felt like it needed a little something.  So I grabbed a black ribbon that was meant for another dress and voila! The perfect finishing touch.  I used to always get rid of the belts/brooches/buttons/and other random accessories that came with certain items... until I started finding uses for them with other pieces.  And I couldn't even tell you what dress this ribbon belt was intended for... Hopefully it enjoyed the new home :)

Wow, I would have thought the ribbon came with the dress! It looks great defining your waist that way. And I would never have had the idea to pair leopard with this...but the shoes look fabulous! A great bit of interest to your lovely ensemble :)

I love the way the ribbon belt looks on that dress! I never use those belts for their intended purpose either. I hope you had a great Labor Day weekend!

Love this! And I do the same thing all of the time...I have a basket full of belts and ties from other dresses and always find a way to remix them. Well done! And love the pop of leopard!

I love that you added the ribbon to the dress, it gives it something extra! I used to get rid of everything that came with dresses/skirts too, but now I keep all of those items and pair them with other things all the time. Love this dress on you!

I do the same thing with random odds and ends. I love the mixed fabrics of this dress. Makes it so much nicer than a plain sleeveless dress.
