The Ugly Dress

Dress (Carole Little find at Marshalls); Shoes (Nine West); Sunglasses (Charming Charlie)
Ryan Seidel Photography

When I first saw this dress all I could think of was my grandparent's hideous 1970's plaid couch. And then I noticed the button up/short sleeve style that I love... and how much I like black and brown together... And maybe it was the association with my grandparents, but even the pattern started to grow on me. Since no one was looking, I threw it in my "try on" pile - and when I put it on, everything about it just worked. Apparently hideous 1970's couch is a good look on me! And that is the story of the ugly dress. It certainly wasn't love at first sight... but we were meant to be together :)

This is possibly one of my favorite dresses ever. I love the pattern- maybe a little couch like, but it looks amazing. And those shoes are perfect with it. Thank you so much for linking up for the blog hop. We were so happy to have you!

I'm digging this dress...because it's got that 70s-does-40s vibe...super ladylike but kinda funky. The shoes look amazing with it too, amp up the retro feel.

I love it! But then, I've got a thing for patterns lol I know when I go shopping with someone, nine times out of ten I pick something they think is horrible and when I buy it I'm begged not to wear it out with them. When I do though, they see that once it's on it's actually amazing and as long as it's paired with the right shoes and accessories it looks great! That's what I love about style so much, everyone is unique!

I love this pattern. I totally get the 1970's plaid couch vibe and I think that is why I love it so much. Sometimes I buy things because they are ugly- which really makes no sense but I do it anyways.

I know this feeling, I also have it sometimes when I see things and then at second sight, I completly fall in love with them ;-)
The dress looks great on you! Maybe you could also combine it with a pearl statment-necklace and a chanel-lookalike blazer, then it would be the perfect chic-french-madame look!

I don't think this dress is ugly at all! I like the design and the pattern, it has a tory burch vibe, although she'd prob use an orange and navy combo and add a gold chain link belt, hike the price up to $498 but whatever...this looks great. I really like it, and I am glad you bought it :)
