Fail-Safe

Top & Skirt (Limited); Heels (Tahari Find at Marshalls); Dogearded Karma
Necklace  & Earrings (Nordstrom); Watch (Fossil)

There are a few items that create a look that will not let you down 99.99% of the time (and the other .01% you should probably just stay in bed).  A pencil skirt is your secret weapon - any body type can pull off this piece and it always looks sleek and polished. On top, a bright color will play nicely off a solid or subtle pattern (my skirt is a navy pinstripe).  Last and equally as important, every girl should own a pair of leopard heels... they are the quintessential fashion statement that never goes out of style.  So if you are ever in an outfit malfunction situation - remember this fail-safe :)

I loved what you said about the items that 99,99% of the time won't let you down. I couldn't agree more. The pencil skirt, a bright top and patterned shoes look amazing together :)

Love that hot pink top, so silky and bright! I've gotta say though...I can't bring myself to put on a pencil skirt...I've tried a million times but always end up feeling super uncomfortable because my hips/butt/thighs look GIANT. Any suggestions?

I couldn't agree more, and I love this one with the pink top! Right now, I'm spending my summer job-hunting, so I'm not going to work every day. However, I still keep reaching for pencil skirts when I go shopping--I can't help it, I love them so!

You just reminded me that I have a pair of Leopard Heels that never see the day of light...they're by Dolce & Gabbanna too so I am going to make a concerted effort to wear them more. Love this outfit, the shell is a great colour on your skin tone.

Well-said. You look beautiful in this outfit. That cut of top is not one I see too often, but it should be out there more. It really frames your shoulders and makes the outfit totally office-appropriate.
