Working Pants

Pants, Belt, Sweater, and Cocktail Ring (The Limited); Cardigan (Target); Shoes (Naturalizer Outlet); Bracelet (Corset)
I'm so jealous of all the people who have off from work today! I am a firm believer in three day weekends...  Instead, I have to put on my working pants like a big girl.  I prefer dresses and heels to pants and flats, so this outfit really goes against my normal attire.  I think it's because in my first office job, I wore black pants and a sweater as if it were mandatory.   Only in the past five years have I realized that you don't have to leave your style personality at the door at work.  Unless you are the girl who shows up in a halter top and hot pants... I'm sure HR would have something to say about that :)

I LIVE in The Limited. I'm 5'10 and have an almost inhumanly long inseam, and the limited makes all their pants (well most) so that they can be let out for more length. They tailor any of their pants for $10 so it's super easy for me to find stuff that actually fits me there!

When did you get that sweater? I must have it!

I get so bored with "work outfits" myself. It has taken me a long time to be fashionable and professional at the same time. You did a great job here by incorporating bright colored accessories to make it more fun!

You look great Heather! I love your pants and that bracelet!!! As you become use to the job and people you'll incorporate your style into it. You always play it safe in the beginning. :) Have a great day!

You look very classy!

Heather these trousers are so nice on you! They make you look so tall and lean. Oh and as you guess... I was the type to ditch school. I was in student council and they gave us these badges to get off campus whenever we wanted... i abused the priviledge.

Totally sympathize with the "mandatory" black pants. Just recently started spicing up my work attire with lots of skirts and dresses :)

Heather, I feel the same way as you do about style. For a very VERY long time, my wardrobe was basically the same. I had a lot of button shirts, skirts, and slacks. I work in finance and there are a lot of conservative folks, and I basically left my style at home. I do struggle from time to time on the blog, what do I post for work? for fun? Love the cardigan, I just saw it in the target ad yesterday :)

Haha, I can definitely relate on my 'work uniform' when I first entered the corporate world. All black pants and boring shirts all the time. Ugh! I credit fashion bloggers with helping me step outside of my comfort zone!
