Forced Pants Situation

So I thought Mother Nature and I were becoming friends... I'd gone camping recently despite my aversion to the outdoors, and spent an entire weekend at my boyfriend's family cabin... which means I've had more fresh air and nature time in the past few weeks than I usually get in a few years.  While at the cabin, we decided to take Rex swimming for the first time...and the poor thing was absolutely pathetic - truly the picture below says it all. A few days later my legs started to itch like crazy, and it looked like a mosquito was at an all you can eat buffet from my ankle to my knees.  Turns out I had lake itch (also known as swimmer's itch or gross). Between traumatizing Rex with the swimming episode and my lake itch, I've learned we're better off as indoor people :)

Awwww, I know what you mean! When I take Sophie swimming its always a disaster - she's terrified of the water. I guess little dogs just weren't meant to be swimmers. Too bad about the lake itch :( I know everytime we go to the lake we have to make sure if doesn't happen.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear about lake itch! I returned from a cruise a few years ago and encountered something similar, it looked like mosquitos had thanksgiving dinner on my arms and legs! I was in dire misery due to the itch so I can sympathize. I hope it gets better soon, and I love that sweater!

I've always hated capri pants - but somehow I think you look great in this pair. I don't know if you just have really great calves/ankles or whatever, but its somehow working for me.
Aww lake itch - worst.

OMG those pants! I love them!! And hey, nothing wrong with being an indoor person. Me and mother nature don't exactly get along either.

Funny story.

Swimmer's rash... just another reason for Jordan not to go camping... check!

Love these pants! You look so cute. I am definitely an indoors girl myself. I don't like hiking, outdoor sports, hunting, etc., etc.

Oh nooo! This exactly why I don't do outdoors-y stuff! Jinx loves to swim in the ocean but Oliver refuses to go in past his legs.

Love your printed floral pants!

Aww, poor Rex and your poor legs. I'm not much of an "outdoorsy" person either, and that's an understatement :) Besides, you can't wear cute, stylish outfits like that while camping, so where's the fun in that?

Oh no, lake itch? That stinks! Rex is too cute even if he hated the water!

I like staying in a cabin, but that's as "roughing it" as I like to get.

I do like the pants you have on! And that is a super pretty top!

Oh my god, I totally had that one year and it was the WORST. I had little scars from it for a month afterward. Not going to lie, I've been scared to swim in lakes ever since. Love the outfit!

UGH that sounds dreadful! The outdoors and I do not mix either - I've had similar (awful) experiences with camping with my husband, so much so that on our upcoming trip to Yosemite in October, we're staying at a "lodge" outside the park instead. :)

I think the key for me is - outdoors is ok during the day, but give me a shower, a good bed/pillow and AC at night, and i'll be a happy girl.

P.S. Rex is adorable, depsite lacking in the ability to swim department. :)

You look really great in this pants, adore the pants dear !!! Lovely outfit :)

Love those pants!! Is that a recent purchase? I love that store but its so far away from where I live :-(

How did Rex react after the swimming incident? Bug and mosquito spray added to my list.

so cute! I love those pants, and a cabin weekend sounds wonderful, though I know it can be a bit trying!

Those capris are so pretty! I honestly wish that I could pull something like this off, everything from your uber chic sweater to the stream lined stilettos just make this outfit pop.

OMG Rex looks hilarious/adorable "swimming"! I think pups with short legs get too tired trying to swim and they do take a while to get used to the water (Grizzly's first swim wasn't a success either but she's getting better)
I'm sorry about your lake itch! Does lotion help? I'd never heard of that before but I'm fairly allergic so I feel your pain!

this outfit is amazing, love those pants!

Oh, that picture of Rex is priceless! Doesn't look like he is much of a water dog, but I guess it was worth a shot. And sorry to hear about your poor legs! Get better soon.

Regardless, this outfit is quite lovely. I love the beautiful color and print of those pants. And adding that great open knit top really makes it feel like early fall. So pretty!
